Any nostalgic managers still playing OFM?

Heyy it’s so strange coming back here every few years.. such a weird feeling- spent so many of my teenage years here (well on the old forums lol), sad to see not too many are left :(( Catch y’all in another 2 years do so lmao
In this very thread five years ago, I recalled my interactions with your brother, the legendary Mr.William.Football. (Fun fact: William was a moderator of the General Café subforum, predecessor of the Sports Bar, in the pre-2017 forum. At least he was during my Big Interview, where I made a snide comment about his modliness after telling a couple of somebodies I've forgotten to take their chatter to PMs.)
If I've managed to summon you by proxy after five years, I'd imagine you'd do a good job of summoning yourself directly within two years... or, as it were, twenty-two-and-a-half months. For what it's worth, this is my third login since June 2022 and I've made a habit of posting on the forums every time.
The Gamebasics homepage now says that "more than a million gamers play OSM every day." Imagine how big the number must be if you add all the nice, lovely, old-forum-era people who log in out of interest every few months... or years.

Well, well, well, would you look who's back! AKA LordBinky, Terry Phuqwitt, and now Binky Bletherington. Thought I'd pop in and see how things were since my last incarnation several (many?) years ago. Any oldies still knocking about?
-
@Binky-Bletherington Hello there LordB! Sadly less and less of us oldies are staying here.. guess we are getting too old for this s...
And also if someone wants to come back, OSM has a wonderfull policy of deleting your account details 2 or 3 years since last log in so there is no possibility to continue your account if you stopped for a longer time. Talk about customer respect..
All in all forums are dead nowadys and nothing happens here anymore as game is becoming more and more p2w valueing only recent success and recent investments.. cheaters ruling the game because they made OSM medals that value cheating more than competitive play..
But always nice to see legends of the game like yourself poping in from time to time. Reminds me of that good old OFM times

@Majstor-Matt Hi, Matt, yeah, I was really into this game for a long time, then just hit the wall I guess. Not unique as it's happened with Candy Crush and Criminal Case. I'll see how long I hang around this time. Interesting that you mentioned cheats as my first official role in OSM was as a Judge investigating claims of cheating. That just took off to where I would spend hours at a time just weeding out 1000s of people/accounts. Then Special One (he still here?) in his wisdom decided to make me a Community Manager. I think that's when the wheels started falling off my love of the game. Anyway, good to hear from you. Cheers!

@Binky-Bletherington Hello, hello!!!
If you typed my name correctly I would pop here earlier!
Welcome back my friend. Don't blame me for you leaving the game. I just rewarded you with a title you long deserved... Different tasks I know
And yeah, still around after..... well, way too many years!
@Majstor-Matt About deleting accounts, I'm afraid it's not OSM fault, but our fathers (for underages) and ours if you're eligible to vote. We gave powers to some people that make these laws and companies have to follow them and privacy laws are a real pain...
-
@SpecialOne According to EU law or?
Just had a chat with some old players that could'nt log in to their original account(2001/2005 created). One of them even worked for Gamebasics in the past.
Such a shame. -
@Binky-Bletherington I remember LordBinky.
-
long long way home
-
@L-R-van-kessel_NL EU and all the others... OSM is a world wide game, so we've to comply with all laws! (Not my department, but I believe I'm not saying anything completely wrong)
-
@SpecialOne I think you're not saying the truth. I don't blame you because obviously you get orders from your employer. The truth about this game dying is because GB (or Miniclip) doesn't want to pay for better servers. This is why you killed first this forum by closing and deleting many threads. Because much posts/threads = more bandwidth and better servers needed and better servers have higher costs. Then you changed manager points to medal points. Then you deleted profile pictures because it's lighter for servers to have only 20-30 pictures instead of thousands. And now last thing I can remember is by deleting old users (my account was mysteriously deleted). All these changes are because your employer doesn't want to spend on better servers. You also killed the competitive spirit of this game. It's been few years and no official competition organized from the staff. Only the community is trying to keep this spirit and this game alive organizing competitions in different platforms such as Discord. But as I said, I don't blame you. You're not the owner.

@Je7oN One thing you can be sure... Every single information I pass is true. I don't lie...
Some of the reasoning you mention are valid reasons, but not ALL calls made by Miniclip NL (Gamebasics) are based on profit/costs.
If you really want to know about avatars/data stored on our servers, just google for UGC and GDPR and spend some time reading... I believe you'll find some interesting information.
About closing/deleting specific language 'forums', this was a decision made trying to improve overall activity. Those forums were dead with less than 10 posts per month, so... what we're trying is to move all the forum users to EN language and keep at least EN language active to not close forum completely.
Two of the most active languages use to be AR (arabic) and PL (Polish) and since the start of the year we had less than 50 posts on AR forums and a bit over 100 on Polish... what would you do with both of them?

The deletion-part is requried by law, why personal data (if handled) must be deleted, when the purpose ends. Due to the technical limitation to check which account has personal information, and which not, it is applicable to delete all older accounts after an amount of time.
In Germany e.g., there is §195 BGB which says, that the "Standard limitation period" is 3 years. This means, after 3 years, you don't have any chance to fight for something. Then the ultimate purpose for storing information is gone and the deletion needs to be done.I don't know the standard limitation periods for other (european) countries, but I think it is mostly this amount of time, if not less. But in Data Privacy, other countries orienting themself on the GDPR, why a lot of laws say, that data mus be deleted after purpose is gone (ADPPA, PDPL, PIPL, ....)

If anyone’s listening…
I think my user was King_Macca which I became a forum moderator and then a staff person that found lots of cheaters
I then became ‘Undisputed ️’ but all the changes to the game and life took control.
A leader of the crew ‘Rebels’ that never challenged but tried to beat ‘Fearless Aces’
We had pwhibs, Diar, Majstor Matt, LordBinky, Otis (class at graphics)
Either way a real good time and hosting ‘Guess the Player’ was a bloody nightmare but very fun.
Not sure if you’ll ever hear from me again so you can find me on insta at MaccaaaRace
P.S. After my tactics testing I’ve have users messaging me on insta/twitter for years asking for tactics
