**Song-Challenge Day 24: A cover song**
Millions of covers but I will post only one this time. A lovely melody coming originally from Peru that was reborn from Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel. The world famous duet that created the Sound of Silence .
"El Cóndor Pasa (Flight of the Condor) is a song from the zarzuela ( musical play ) El Cóndor Pasa by the Peruvian composer Daniel Alomía Robles written in 1913 and based on traditional Andean folk tunes.
It is possibly the best-known Peruvian song worldwide due to a cover version by Simon & Garfunkel in 1970 on their Bridge Over Troubled Water album. This cover version is called El Condor Pasa (If I Could). Paul Simon heard a version called "Paso Del Condor" by Jorge Milchberg, who is head of the group Urubamba, formerly known as Los Incas. Simon became friendly with the group through this song, and ended up touring with them and producing their first American album. Paul Simon personalized the song by adding his own English lyrics. On the Simon & Garfunkel version, Robles, Milchberg and Simon are all listed as songwriters. Later that year, Perry Como released a cover of Simon's English version on his album It's Impossible, while Julie Felix took advantage of Simon and Garfunkel's decision not to release their version as a UK single, and had a UK Top 20 hit with it. Simon & Garfunkel did release their version as a single in the U.S. and it reached # 18 on the Billboard Pop Singles chart in the fall of 1970."

The melody is so beautiful. I could listen it all day...Yes indeed Hans. It's such a sweet, relaxing and soothing melody. And it is such a world famous Peruvian gem so it doesn't surprise me if they call it their second National anthem. :thumbsup_tone2: Thank you for your post my friend , it's great to read from you again. How about if we had some good Indonesian music posted from you Hans ?

Thanks to our mate Hans I recalled of a song I had found accidentally some time ago on youtube and I had posted it on our old forums cause I liked it sooooo much, although I could not get a single word ofc from its lyrics. LoL.
But still music has a special way to touch our hearts and a beautiful - successful song has to do with all the emotions that creates and feelings that brings to each listener. Now this song I think it comes from Tayland.
I wish someone could explain to me the lyrics of this wonderful song. And sometimes I wish and imagine of a new World-Wide music contest. Instead of Eurovision , what if we had a Worldvision song contest? Where each country should participate with a song coming from their native language. In my opinion that would be simply magnificent :heart_exclamation:
