i haven't been playing for a while but you used to be able to get extra money if you set the bar for your endgoal (on the list for example instead of 5th place you go for 3th place) higher. Does anybody know if that is still an option?

If you mean manager points and coins then yes, you get more of them if you aim for a higher goal on the end of the season.

I think he meant the "financial director" which was available on 2.0 whch allowed ticket holders to request extra funds for their team and team objective increases by one after second fund request.
