Why lousy?
Idea is not that ALL OSM managers can apply to this event. What would be the fun if you make events where you can easily achieve it?
Every user should make up their calls in conscience on ALL times they play OSM. Play fully for free or invest some money (keep in mind that there are lots of users that have several thousands of BCs that they got from achievements)... up to each one according to their goals. -

You can make a 'valid'/fair offer on player. Explain him why and ask him if he's gentle enough to accept the offer. Even if you've to offer maximum possible (2.5 times player value).

I got two questions: How long do we still have? Does it end at midnight tonight, midnight tomorrow night, the beginning of the first world cup game or at another time?
It will end tomorrow by the time of the opening match start at 15:00H UTC
Second. Is there some way to get around trainers that don't react. I mean I put a lot of work in getting the ones I have, I would be really pissed if I wouldn't be able to finish because three trainers just picked a team and only show up once every three days.
I've no idea how you can solve this... but these 'rules' were made to make it harder to achieve it, otherwise if it would be easy, we wouldn't be able to manage the whole event... if you look through the whole post, there were a lot of applications that were rejected due to break of OSM terms.
