Joao Felix has officially completed his move to Atletico Madrid from Benfica in what is a huge coup for Los Rojiblancos.
At just 19 years of age Felix had been one of the most coveted players in Europe, yet Atletico were able to fight off Manchester City to lure the Portuguese starlet to the Estadio Wanda Metropolitano, where he has signed a seven-year contract.
The second striker will be the face of Atletico's project as they move past the Antoine Griezmann era, while his 127.2 million euro price tag - which accounts for Felix's 120m euro release clause, six million euros paid as interest for paying in instalments, and 1.2m euros for Porto, where he first started out as a youth player - means that he not only becomes Los Rojiblancos' record signing but the fourth most expensive purchase of all time, only behind Neymar, Kylian Mbappe and Philippe Coutinho.
Back on May 17, MARCA reported that Atletico had identified Felix as the player they wanted to build their new project around, and one and a half months later they have made his arrival a reality.
Finally, he choose my favourite club as his destination!

@SUPERNOVA-8 - I hope he has a speedy recovery, he's a great player. But the way Son went in from behind and aurier from the side didn't help when Andre Gomes at all when he fell - it was awful...

@Suleman____f Couldn't agree more with you. It's one of the bad sides of football and the worst thing that can ever happen to an athlete.

@ianthebean-byrne Yeah I agree he has sort of declined since going through so many injuries. A few years ago, he used to play for the England National Team, but a better, younger Declan
has replaced him in the role of holding midfielder. -
