Not really a surprise for me. Its years ago that a good song won the contest
At least the places 3 to 11 were all good (beside sweden ^^)

Also the holland song i suspected Higher in the final list

No I didnt, even if it was my personal favourite.
Country styled songs sadly never worked in eurovision till now... -
I agree completely for Sweden
On Sweden and Lithuania I nearly slept...
Italy won me in the final with their performance. The question is what's wrong with the juries?! And Hungary was another robbed country.
I didn't put Estonia in my top 10, cause Estonia is just another universe and Eurovision doesn't deserve such an unique song, exacly in an year when a fat chicken wins.
Winner-well I won't go into details but ESC is not only about music
PS: The austrian guy tried to congratulate the winner after the results were known but he was pushed away, that doesn't make a good impression. -

Italy won me in the final with their performance. The question is what's wrong with the juries?! And Hungary was another robbed country.

I basically think it's unfair that the fans and audience have to pay for voting, while the jury probably get paid for being in the jury and nevertheless both counts the same amount...
But since a few years for me it`s relative the same who wins, because it's so amazing to discover a lot of new great music. Till now I have 6 cd's of former esc contestants at home, who I wouldnt even know without esc. And I also hear a lot of songs of other former participants regulary! ESC really ist an enrichment!
And also like you said beside the music -
Hoshi is one of those artists who made a great first impression to myself with a different sounding music.
