Is it just me or would the game be so much better if you could train your line up?

I've been playing a long time now and the things that really annoy me on this game are having bad sim times and randomly not getting notifications on my phone about my game starting.

Both of these problems lead to me real problem which is not having my 11 ready for my game cus I've been training players. It's happened a few times recently and it's super annoying cus it can ruin a month of playing easily. But I was just thinking this would all be solved if you could just train players without removing them from the lineup, like there's no real benefit to it other than it being easier to set your team up. I know it's unlikely to change cus it's been this way forever but it does seem a silly rule.
