Community Events/Competitions

Hi all,
There are quite some competitions being organized by some of our players, but on all majority they are crew related, or events that are meant to be continued with more than one edition and require a lot of time and effort to coordinate.
I would like to try a different approach and need your help for it... Ideas for things that can be fun to do on this forum and/or on OSM.
Idea is to have something simple and that doesn't necessarily need to have more than one edition.So... Let them come guys. I'm sure there are some nice ideas waiting for help to made them great and implement them

Since World Cup is being played in a system same like here in Winners Cup... maybe organizing some kind of Knockout Royale but with Group Stage + Knockouts where there would be some kind of BC's reward for top performing managers (Winner and finalist for instance).Also to honour such an occasion like FIFA WC that happens once in 4 years that special tournment can be restricted to people who win tickets like Winners Cup is.
I'd do it something like this.
- You win top 4 positions in La Liga = you get a Winners Cup ticket
- You enter and win a winners cup (or reach the final) and you get a ticket for that special Winners Royale.
- Only If you achieve first 2 steps you can enter Winners Royale with special ticket and some sort of coins cost (40 BC's or like something like that but only a handfull of managers get the final reward - Finalists and semifinalists max)

@majstor-matt this sounds very complicated to me.
How about individual tournament like OSM WC was in the past? I know osm has already Markez as event manager but from what Ive seen he is not active anymore. How about hiring new event manager like @Maris-14 and she would organise that tournament again. Nothing would be better than bringing back that tournament in my opinion.

@jetont Your idea is good but sadly it is hard to adjust the criteria to choose who will be able to play. Medals are now for ranking but we all know that If you call up top 200 managers in ranking, that 90% of them will not want to risk their precious medals

@jetont Your idea is good but sadly it is hard to adjust the criteria to choose who will be able to play. Medals are now for ranking but we all know that If you call up top 200 managers in ranking, that 90% of them will not want to risk their precious medals
@majstor-matt true. This new ranking with medals must not be criteria to be part of the tournament. Maybe something that has to do with crew official battles should be the criteria, I don't know, maybe someone has better idea.

@jetont Hard to do anything crew related, as crews are a group, it does not have any relation to individual manager effort - its a team effort. Also, they are mostly closed group so not everyone have access to top crews.

Maybe you can try to make a prediction game?
Making a file on google with some different topics and titles.
For example:

... -
Who will be the topscorer

Who will have the most assist
-
Country that will surprise (positive and negative)
For some "top games", you can also add that people can predict the score.

I Know, working with a google file will not bring that much activity, but for the preparations in the different communities, it could be useful. We can make a file and everybody in each community is free to fill it in. The games/topscorer,... with the most votes will be the results that every community will have.
All the results from each community, we can post it in a main topic where people can see what every community thinks about some games/topscorers. There, people can discuss or give their opinion.

@specialone How long is the Rival Knockout promotion available?
I have joined a new league on Slot 1 yesterday evening, so I probably be able to participate (and I don't want to resign because I already invested in this team Man Utd). Next time please post about events that need a free acount much earlies, to avoid that many managers have already running leagues on all their slots.

I have a suggestion.
So taking advantage of what Wooper said was to make a Predict.
How would it work in order to have activity in the topic:
So there would be a reward being a medal in the profile according to the number of hits about which national team passes in X phase, being that there would be 3 levels of bronze, silver and gold and after this first phase it would be a tournament between the people who had best predict.
Being the 1st phase the 16 national teams that pass in the group phase + the 2nd phase that would be the elimination phase, where each one predicted from the round of 16 to the final and who would take the title of champion (15). Thus giving a total of 31 Predicts.
1st phase
2nd phase
Medals would be based on the number of hits:
- Bronze – 8 Predicts
- Silver - 14 Predicts
- Gold – 20 Predicts
Then the 2nd part of the Predicts would be a tournament with the (X) people who had the most hits in the 1st part of the Predicts where the final champion would take a prize in BC.
During this 2nd Part the Predicts continued to be that this time, instead of being the national teams, it would be the players who would be in this tournament.
