@specialone Hello, The Polish Eagles of @Dovco_HandF is organizing the Eagles Cup. This is the biggest tournament organized by the group. For me as the organizer of such a big tournament is a big problem. With many groups and players is a problem, because they do not read previous pages in the topic or even posts. I understand that you want to keep the forum clean. However, it can cause a big mess in this topic due to many tournaments. Please contact me and @Dovco_HandF.
-
Seems that you found out the problem....
@damiś27 said in Community/global Non Official Events advertisement:
...because they do not read ...
Maybe you should also start reading it.
Eagles cup is not an official event. Looking back at the topic, I don't see any discussion about how the event is going... I only see posts with screnshots of results. It's up to organization to find a way to improve results communication, but I can suggest one solution:
- Make a google doc with all results and share the link to it!
When the real discussion on an event justify an individual topic we're here to allow it and even promote it!
We're sorry, but there are way too many topics full of screenshots that doesn't promote any discussion or fun to anyone on forums! -
@specialone I read and understand. However, there are no tournaments organized by groups or players. There are other problems in the forum.
I don't not want to argue in the public forum and undermine your decision and your reputation with other players. Please contact me privately. -
@damiś27 I've nothing to hide!
You already started to 'undermine my reputation' by downvoting my posts...
There's nothing to be discussed in private that I won't discuss here.
The type of topics we would like to see on OSM forums (mainly the ones that are available to all users: English ones) are discussion topics.
What we want is that every single user (mainly new ones) that checks forums are able to learn something about OSM and feel comfortable asking things. What we've now when an user opens a forum is a bunch of locked topics with nonsense on them and competitions (which they have no idea what this is all about) and full with "good luck" posts and screnshots of excel tables. This is not what we want for our forums!Individual topics for events? Sure when participants on events are able to have some fun and banter discussing how the event goes. Having a topic full with screenshots, good luck posts and when we've a 'bigger'/discussion post is because someone broke the rules?!?!!? Come on... forums should be a place for support, discussion and some fun!
-
- It came out, but you have to understand me too, I'm wasting my time and waiting for the facilities. But for me and the players to put everything into one topic is definitely a handicap.
- Many themes / tournaments in one topic are a great hindrance to the organizers of all tournaments and to all other players. The biggest problem is not reading posts by players. I think we need to make more clear and easier access to the topic data.
- I'm the organizer of The Eagles Cup 3.0 2017 (Tournament Support: Damiś27) I know this is an unofficial tournament. This is also the fun and variation of the game with a battle mode. I'll ask you in a straightforward way. Do not you like the battle?
- I would like to play for the best and spend a lot of time with her. I organize The Eagles Cup 3.0 2017 (Tournament Support: Damiś27). I'm having fun at the Polish Forum. I help many players. I am active in many games and tournaments. I try to work with many people and improve tournaments and fun.
-
@specialone I enjoy watching all the screenshots of results and team values, because it makes me able to follow all the tournaments very closely. You shouldn't discourage that, it's just part of the game and many people like it.
Maybe it's time to bring back the old forums. A forum should be able to handle lots of topics and all kinds of posts, but this forum definitely isn't. I think that's the real problem.

@specialone
... I'll ask you in a straightforward way. Do not you like the battle?A quick read on my profile and you'll see that I'm a member of The Force, checking my Crew profile you'll see my name on several battles....
Since you joined the game back in 2014, you had enough time to play battles on V2.0, so you should have saw topics and more topics about battles... if you look back to posts from 2008 (to learn a bit about the competition youlike to play) you'll learn that Battles were created inside The Force and yes, I was part of the team that created the Whole concept.... I believe that Results templates still have my name on them
I believe this will answer your question!
NOTE: If you look back to those topics you will easily notice the difference between the spirit of the battles when they were created and how low that spirit is on these days battles.
-
@memphisnl why bring back old forums? Just because of community events?
If you really like to check screenshots of results, you can always click on the link to the file and check them there... organizers can even add sheets with stats.... etc etc.... lots of things they can think of to make a competition discution interesting and convince us that they deserve an individual topic!
Topics with only screenshots, good luck and complaints about breaking rules, NO thanks!
-
Yes go close few topics, this will change everything. This won't bring anything new. This game has + 5 million users but every day I see the same 20 or 30 people posting something. You (all the authorities in OSM) should figure out how to bring new people here, this problem exists already for 2 or 3 years.
I see you complain about tournaments, posts and spirit of battles nowdays, but what are you doing about tournaments, crews, battles and crews life? Where are the official tournaments which are well organised? I don't see them. One tournament per year where participate 190 managers out of 5 millions. Really?
You want the forums to became more active, but you close the topics which were mostly active... lmao What a paradox...
Why can't you open a new thema in the forum (Tournaments) where people can open new topics for each tournament?
Example: 1. Updates, 2. Tournaments, 3. OSM: The game, 4. Sports bar etc.
Is this such a big problem?
Probably yes, but you know, it's important to have the ''Blog'' thema which is completely useless... -
I agree why there is no official tournament
-
This will be my last answer on this topic, if you still have doubts, please read back and carefully my previous posts!
If by active topics you guys mean a topic full of screenshots, good luck and complaints about breaking rules, then I prefer not to have active topics.
... but every day I see the same 20 or 30 people posting something. You (all the authorities in OSM) should figure out how to bring new people here, this problem exists already for 2 or 3 years.
And we're not sleeping on this side.... OSM is not a game made up for those 20/30, as you said it's for 5M (I would love that we had 5Million daily users, would be really nice, maybe your source can make that happen)
It's true that forum users and forum activity are decreasing on past years but what you didn't said is why you suspect that happened... I've some reasons, because I do read ;), being one the fact that all new forumers just stop logging on forums because everytime they open a forum page, they only see events, crews, events, competitions, crews..... And when they create a topic to know a bit about the game, to discuss some feature, their posts is sent to 2nd page hidden in the middle of the screenshots topics and they just stop showing on forums and then they ask their doubts by mail to support...
We've been trying for quite some time to change this without denying these topics to be created, but seems that as someone said in this topic, OSM users don't read neither learn, so we went radical.... let's see how it goes. It may work and it may not work... only time will tell!About changes on the game, competitions, crews.... again, we're not sleeping in here... things doesn't happen overnight, but they happen... just stay tuned!
About the new category... well, this option was/is still open, but at this moment is just ignore the problem and move it to another place.
When our users decide to learn what's the main purpose of OSM forums, then maybe we can have a category only for events/competitions.As a last note: This 'policy'/decision is only to be implemented on English/global forums. Every single Community Manager is free to allow these topics on their communities, as long as they keep some space for OSM topics!

I agree with Nenad(MenagerBL).
This won´t solve anything. There won´t be more players on forums, or if will, than won´t play a lot with the game. These scores belong to the tournaments. Yes, sometimes it is lot of pictures of scores but they need to lead the battles. Personally I liked watching how is going Eagles Cup and we played on WNT too, so if there won´t be opened themes for battles, probably I won´t come anymore on Global Forum.
This is a bit unfair for those people who were active on forums and maybe here won´t be any new people. Unless getting new people, forum will lost more people I think, but maybe not. If the problem is that new people´s topic goes to page 2, than make a new topic Tournaments instead of Blog maybe or a new one and it will be solved.
I have respect to you because you probably work a lot to do the game better but this is unfair for active users of forum. However this is only my thought -
I would like to thank you all for your concerns about OSM.
I can assure you that the purpose of all these changes is to improve OSM forums for ALL users, not just the same 20/30.
A lot has been said from both sides and not even a single one from those that say that this system won't work tried to use it or even tried to prove that their event deserves an individual topic... so, as every time we change something, behaviour is always the same from same users.... Complaint, fight against changes... Is it that hard to try the new system and let time prove if changes are good or not?
From now on only posts advertising events, discussing those events, signing up for them, etc, etc... will be allowed!
All posts that are about any other thing will be deleted, this includes posts asking for events that are not announced in here. If organizers decided to not do them, then please contact the organization directly!

On going event: WNT 17/18
This wasn't exactly what was expected... but I'll let it go this way. I'll try to manage with EN team an event for EN community and you can then use it as an example on how things are expected to be done!

Hello everyone!
This will be the main topic of the World Nations Tournament - WNT 2017/2018
Here we will talk about the rules, decisions, draws, groupings and everything that is relevant to the tournament.
The organization of the tournament is to @mrtgll33 and @Adilmo-Rocha . Questions, complaints and suggestions should be directed to us!
Already, we have a tournament with fair play and lots of fun!
''The top 22 of NR - V07.17 are qualified for WNT 2017/2018'', but need to confirm their participation by 31/07
If they do not confirm, they will lose the place for the first selection from 23rd place.
And so on:
We will then have 6 or 10 places to be decided by the inscriptions of the teams from 23rd place in the ranking and/or some that are not yet in the ranking.
WNT 17/18 will have 28 or 32 selections.
Ex: Then, from Brazil (1st) to Mexico (22nd), ask for confirmation until 31/07 to participate in this edition of WNT.And open registration, also until July 31, for the 6 or 10 places.
To do this, they should sign up like this:
Name of the Nation => Responsible => Current Ranking
There will be no playoffs!
Also: The definition of the 6 or 10 qualified nations will be according to the level of participation in 2017 and global history.
Starting 08/08, we will talk about the rules of this edition.
Questions, please ask we.
Thank you all!

Oh boy...I am totally against the admins decision, but now I see what he mean under spaming and ridiculous discussion...
Why we need to do all this again? Everyone confirmed their participation before 3-4 days. And why to prolong the tournament again? U already have 32 teams, make the draw and we are good...@raúl-caruso-lombardi said in Community/global Non Official Events advertisement:
