Hey guys!
I'm so proud of myself, just finished my first season in OSM and won the league and the cup.
42 matches, 39 wins, 2 draws and 1 lose.
112 Gf and 8 Ga, Gray D. became the top scorer with 30 goals.
I didn't spend real money for the game, so I just was a simple user with Leicester City.I know I am still inexperienced, but I think it's a great beginning!
Love this game! Have a nice day!

Hello, everyone, I want to share my experience of controlling Fiorentina team and winning the league trophy and the cup with two different squads. And believe it or not, I never sold any player and still won the league two times with the current squad. The Fiorentina squad has a lot of ups and downs due to real-life transfers but basically you just need to train Chiesa and reinforce the defense and everything will be fine.
For the first trophy, I won 109 points. I trained Chiesa and Giovanni Simeone and turned them into deadly strikers with atk stats of over 100 with the ability to score goals. As you can see, Chiesa scored 35 goals and Simeone scored 23 goals. As for Muriel, Mirallas, Vlahovic and Graiciar, I used them for unimportant matches and saved Chiesa-Simeone for decisive matches against big fishes, like this one:
And Muriel, Mirallas, Vlahovic was not bad, they managed to scored more than 10 goals and that was the key to my victory. Pjaca, on the other hand, was my joker, he had difficulty scoring goals even though his atk was 100.
So how could Chiesa and Simeone get so many goals? The answer came from midfield, I had a strong midfield with 4 players with overall stats of over 100. Benassi, Gerson, Edimilson Fernandes and Veretout, they played the role in providing the ball. Benassi: 15 assists, Gerson: 10 assists and Veretout: 18 assists. Thanks to their contributions, the two forward strikers were able to score over 20 goals. You can say that THEY WERE IN THEIR PRIME UNDER MY COMMAND, HA HA HA HA!
Ahem, as for my defense, I had many good cards in my hand, such as Milenkovic, Hancko and relatively good defenders like Pezzella and Anke, who I bought from transfer market. And the most solid wall was Alban Lafont with the def stats of 116. Lafont is a young player so it is very easy to improve his strength through training, Terracciano is good but I don't put too much trust in him, LOL.
And this is my journey to the first title:

The road to my second successful season, it was a bit rough. Because of Fiorentina's transfer policy in real life, it also affected my squad in Online Soccer Manager. Simeone, Pjaca, Gerson, Edimilson Fernandes, Veretout, Hancko and Lafont were no longer in my team, instead I had a bunch of average players and a useless Bobby Duncan. But luckily, Chiesa, Benassi, Milenkovic still remain with Fiorentina, so... well, that's good =)))
And as the season went by, I no longer felt sad, Pedro Guilherme was the best replacement for Simeone, Zurkowski for Gerson, Pol Lirola for Hancko, Dragowski for Lafont and I bought Lucas Torreira to strengthen the midfield, I also had infamous Ribery and Kevin-Prince Boateng in my squad, even though they're old now, their stats are somehow stable.
But to be honest, my current roster was still not as good as the previous roster. Not to mention that I had a rough start. But luckily, my competitors didn't keep up their good shape. After many rounds, only Atalanta, AC Milan, and my team were left. The odd thing about this season was... the driver of the Atalanta team suddenly resigned (I guess he resigned after creating a big gap with other managers to make them feel ashamed... because they lost to a computer... LOL?) I had a match against Atalanta and won, The distance between me and the Atalanta team was now 6 points.
Atalanta struggled in the following rounds and I kept winning, my team beat one of my main competitor, AC Milan, and shortened the distance of the two teams to one point before the final round.
I beat SPAL in the final round while Atalanta was held by Torino and thus Fiorentina became the champion, beating Atalanta by one point. What a season!

The key to win Italian League with Fiorentina: Collect points from small teams and put all your energy into the big matches, and you can win the trophy. And remember, KEEP TRAINING AND TRAINING! Fiorentina has many young lads and you can easily upgrade them to World Star Players.
Thanks for reading my boring paragraph, LOL.

I smashed Serie A with Inter Milan with 107 points, and I won the prem 2x with Man. City as title race opponent
-
Just won Winners' cup with this powerful squad
-
how did you get havertz?
-
@vandijk_44 Well, I started playing with Newcastle some two months ago, since I had to complete Premier league before entering Winners cup. Havertz was available back then, I bought him off the transfer list
-
How do people manage to play with so few players? Maybe that's where I've been going wrong.
-
@Suvven I can manage even with 15 players, but I dont recommend it, I always try to have 18, for me its The perfect number. 2 goalkeepers, 6 defenders, 6 midfielders, 4 attackers.
-
@Suvven When I'm playing in a 20-team league I usually have 22 players for most of the season. However, when I'm playing in a tournament I have 18 players during the group stage, and two of the first knock-out stages. After that, I reduce number to 15 because I won't be using all of them and I direct funds to strengthening my squad and buying some fresh (and fit) players.
-
Just keep your squad on turnover: buying and selling all the time, making sure there are always four players listed for sale and that you line-up eleven starter players with a bench full of substitutes (seven); other than that, it's just waste.
Sitting the less fittest [max(MOR-FIT)] players on the bench and lining up the ones with less morale [max(FIT-MOR)] on the starting XI is the key to keep an healthy squad. -
I always have things like this based on my tactics;
- 5 attackers
- 5 midfielders
- 6 defenders
- 2 goalkeepers
Always sell less talented players for newer more talented ones on the transfer list. Try and maximise on younger players (aged 27 and under) to provide them with the best opportunity for training. There are always small tips and tricks you can work on to give your team the best chance at winning matches.
-
This is indeed the ideal squad size for a team playing in 4-3-3 formations. Although, as it's recommendable to keep selling until the match time, it's reasonable for its size to drop below these eighteen players; just make sure there are eighteen players by the time the match is simulated, so you can line-up eleven starter players with a bench full of options to come on as substitutes during the match.
Regarding the recommended player age: older players are also relevant. Despite their more accessible prices for the same quality (comparing to younger players'), they also bring more experience - making them more suitable for captains and improving their performance consistency (since they tend to commit less mistakes).
-
@DMFArranhado98 Oh you aren't wrong there. I try and secure one or two older players which much higher stats than that of the rest of my team to avoid having to train them with their slow progress. Thankfully the bonus training for mature players does help from time to time.

Today, I reached the semi final stage first time with Barcelona. This is historic moments for me.

I got introduced to tournaments pretty good, but I've been failing ever since the first three ones.
