The impact of the captain

I usually see the pundit commenting about my captain choices after matches. However, I'm not sure if choosing the suitable captain would have any impact on the performance of my team or if it has any other effect. Can anyone make this clear for me?

Thanks for the reply but I'm well-awared of that. What I want to know is the effect of having the right captain for your team. The pundit keeps saying that I chose the wrong captain but I don't know if there is any point in choosing the suitable one.

The devs do not tell you everything, obviously. To keep some 'secret' or 'luck' in the game engine and game mechanism.

I also have a kinda similar question... what are the differences between Overall rating, Atk rating and Def rating?

@Meister345 Overall rating only matters when there are midfielders, attacking rating is higher in forwards and defensive rating is higher in defenders, with the opposite stat being their weaker stat. A higher offensive rating in midfielders means they are more likely offensive-minded central midfielders or attacking midfielders and a lower defensive rating in midfielders means they are more likely to be central defensive midfielders or defensive-minded central midfielders.

I always use oldest player my line up for captain. If same age, i look quality for better. If quality same too, i choose style of match (defensive, gk or df. Offensive, fw or mf)

It is directly connected to each manager's personal account's data and profiles and it must remain the same for several reasons.
