Serious Issue: Why Is Deleting My OSM Account This Hard?

    I honestly don’t understand why deleting my OSM account has to be this complicated.
    Is this some kind of security procedure? Why does a simple “Delete Account” request feel like I’m trying to access a restricted government system?

    I’ve been away from the game for one or two years, and now that I want to return, I can’t even log out from an unwanted account on my iPhone. The app forces me into another account and gives me no option to log out, no matter what I try.

    And when I finally decided to delete that account, the whole process turned into a headache. I submitted a deletion request, but honestly, this level of difficulty is unreasonable.

    For reference, my request number is 12278122.

    I just want full control over my own account.
    Please fix this, because no player should struggle this much just to log out or delete their own account.

      Hi there,

      I'm sorry you are facing these difficulties with deleting your account.

      As to the not being able to log out on your account in the OSM app: This is done on purpose as you are only allowed to have one account on OSM. Since a phone is yours alone and won't be shared, there is no need for a log out button in the OSM app.

      As for deactivating the account: you should get an e-mail on the e-mailadress that is connected to the account where you can confirm if you want to deactivate the account. Once that is completed you should be able to create a new account on the app. If not, then you will have to settle that with the customer support. Since you already created a ticket, you will have to wait for a reply from them.

        Hi again,

        Just to clarify the situation clearly:

        This issue didn’t start recently. The account that suddenly appeared in my app is from more than 2 years ago, and I never used it. When I first opened the app, I saw my real account MCFC_UAE normally. But when I closed the app and opened it again, it switched to that old inactive account without any action from my side.

        So this is clearly a technical issue from the app, not from the user.

        I have been playing OSM since 2011, and I know the rules very well. I’m not a new player, and I’m not trying to create multiple accounts. I simply want to access my correct main account again on the app.

        I’m only asking for help to fix the issue, not to discuss rules that I have already known for many years.

          Hello, sorry that you're facing an issue caused by a technical issue from App.

          It was OSM App that created and linked an account to your phone (even if 2 yeas ago)? It was OSM that linked the account to AppleID and/or Gamecentre? OSM App ony improved login system, making it easier for users to log on their accounts when they link them to Apple/Gamecenter.
          You never used it? Really?

          Let's talk about rules and behavour, yes.

          You asked for help from support by filling in a ticket. You did what's expected from everyone that has an issue and needs help that's not possible to provide here on forum.
          You didn't even waited for an answer and came to forum complaining in a not very polite way, nevertheless you got a polite answer
          Not happy with your mistakes, your reply is even more unpolite?

          Please, respect those that are giving their time to assist you on this forum!

          Btw, the account you asked for deletion on the ticket was already deleted (at least I was told so).

          This topic will be closed. Further assistence on this subject will be provided by support via ticket!
